'I feel SO safe': Obama assurance Qatar will monitor released Taliban leaders fails to comfort

President Obama spoke this evening about the deal he agreed to which released five Taliban leaders from Gitmo in return for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who had been held in Afghanistan since 2009.

Obama appeared with Bergdahl’s parents to make the statement:

Addressing deep concerns about the released Taliban leaders, Obama said Qatar, where the five are supposed to remain for at least one year, has promised to keep an eye on them:

Qatar has given assurances they’ll protect U.S. national security? That failed to provide a lot of comfort:

Reminder: Even if Qatar keeps the five who have been called “among the most dangerous” at Gitmo under close watch, they will most likely only be required to stay there for one year.
