Texas Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott recently tweeted about where he’d been eating:
Great time at the new In-N-Out Burger in #Austin. #texas pic.twitter.com/RWfHP5pEYc
— Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) December 14, 2013
In-n-Out Burger was founded in California, which, to the Texas Democratic Party, means Abbott is running for governor of the wrong state because he likes “liberal” burgers, or something:
.@GregAbbott_TX tweets he's eating at In-n-Out burger … Is he running for Governor of California? #TeamWhataburger pic.twitter.com/IiKQBx32cv

What? Nice try, Dems. The photo, by the way, is a spinoff from a pro-gun “wheelchair accessible” photo Abbott tweeted last month.
Citizens were unimpressed with the Texas Dems’ joke fail:
What do In-N-Out burgers and the @TXDemParty have in common? Weak sauce. Try again.

.@TXDemParty @GregAbbott_TX are you really saying eating at In-N-Out is anti-Texan? Sure ya wanna make that statement?

The Texas Dems were apparently trying to suck up to “Whataburger” aficionados, because that franchise is based in that state.

Updates:
.@TwitchyTeam As a California resident, I'd have absolutely no problem with Greg Abbott taking over for Moonbeam!
