Obama admin. to permit eagle deaths at wind farms; Citizens rip 'green' hypocrisy

The Obama administration announced that for the next three decades the Department of the Interior will not prosecute operators of wind farms whose turbines kill eagles, supposedly in an attempt to avoid discouraging investment in that particular “clean energy” business.

Via the Associated Press:

Under pressure from the wind-power industry, the Obama administration said Friday it will allow companies to kill or injure eagles without the fear of prosecution for up to three decades.

The new rule is designed to address environmental consequences that stand in the way of the nation’s wind energy rush: the dozens of bald and golden eagles being killed each year by the giant, spinning blades of wind turbines.

So, your product killing protected species is acceptable provided you’re engaging in a business approved by the Obama administration?

The hypocrisy is being called out big time:

Allowing wind farm operators to go unpunished for the animals their turbines kill, ostensibly to provide the country with “clean energy,” is sure to be the ultimate dilemma for the eco/enviro crowd. That is, if they decide to take notice.
