Wow, what would cause the Pentagon to suspend a Twitter account that is part of the U.S. Department of Defense?
The suspended account was used by the Defense Department’s improvised explosive device division, the “Joint IED Defeat Organization,” and the action was reportedly taken after @JIEDDO made a joke in regards to terrorist attacks in the Philippines:
jeez RT @TheDuffelBlog: Holy shit. @JIEDDO deleted their account. pic.twitter.com/1IzCRgBjBE

The tweet asked if the theaters where the bombs exploded were “re-showing Gigli.”
Not funny:

So far there’s no word on if or when @JIEDDO will be restored, but if it is ever up and running again the odds are good that the account will be operated by a different person.
.@BFriedmanDC Dropping a JDAM on the social media manager would've been much more appropriate.
