President Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney was back in his usual spit-take inducing form today, which is to laughably pretend that we’re living in a world where 2008’s promises have all been fulfilled. One of those Obama promises was to bring historic and sweeping levels of transparency to D.C. According to Carney, mission accomplished:

Judging from the subsequent laughter, either Carney told another hilarious whopper or there was a nitrous oxide leak on Twitter:
"I think the president’s record on transparency is broad and significant," said Jay Carney, as I died laughing.

“@charliespiering: Jay Carney: Obama's record on transparency is "broad and significant"” Snowden's record much broader, and he's new at it.
