CNN does some heavy lifting for Biden, who Republicans are holding hostage on the debt ceiling; UPDATED

President Biden, and whoever is doing the actual negotiations on behalf of the White House, will resume talks with the Republicans this week on raising the debt ceiling.

The House has passed a debt ceiling bill, but so far Biden appears to be taking the “my way or default” approach. However, CNN is reporting the story as if the House Republicans are holding Biden hostage by trying to do something about the spending addiction that’s led to a national debt over $32 trillion:

They’re so predictable. And you know what that spin would be if a Republican was in the White House and the Dems had control of the House:

Also you don’t get to be $32 trillion in debt if you’ve been “paying the bills,” but the media rarely takes that approach.

True. The media reports that not raising the debt ceiling could lead to “economic disaster” but that’s exactly where the country is headed if the irresponsible and obviously unsustainable levels of spending continue.

As usual, in government-speak “cuts in spending” means a slowing in the speed that spending increases.
