Last year when Eric Adams was running to be New York City’s next mayor, he made this promise:
"We should protect our immigrants." Period.
Yes, New York City will remain a sanctuary city under an Adams administration. #EricOnNBC

Fast forward to the current day, and it appears that Adams is feeling like his city is being overwhelmed by the policy he previously supported. Adams is now trying to send migrants elsewhere — apparently there’s a little too much “sanctuary” going on in his proud sanctuary city. One plan is to send many of them to another county (I’ll get to the other idea in a minute):
A New York state judge has temporarily blocked New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) from sending asylum-seekers to a nearby county as the city tries to manage an influx of migrants.
The Tuesday ruling from New York Supreme Court Judge Sandra Sciortino allows the migrants who have already been transported to the Crossroads Hotel and Ramada by Wyndham in the town of Newburgh in Orange County to remain there but bars the city government from sending any additional migrants there.
It sounds like the New York City mayor is really between a rock and a hard place, and speaking of rocks, guess what’s also reportedly being discussed:
NEW: @NYCMayor's administration is seriously considering a plan to house migrants in a Rikers Island jail that was shuttered last year, the Daily News has learned.

Wait, maybe she only does that when the president is a Republican.
I mean they did break the law.

At least somebody’s considering putting people who broke the law in jail:
New York City officials are seriously considering a plan to house migrants in a Rikers Island jail that was shuttered last year, the Daily News has learned.
The move, which would likely spark sharp criticism from migrant advocates and civil liberties groups, is one of several being considered by Mayor Adams’ administration to house a wave of migrants entering the city.
The jail being considered is the Otis Bantum Correctional Center (OBCC), a 1,700-bed facility that was closed in June 2022, two city government sources and a Department of Correction insider told The News.
When will the Dems & media “kids in cages” rhetoric start?
Democrats didn't think this "Sanctuary City" thing though at all. Not at all. https://t.co/r2pIp11Y5b

For so many Democrats, “not thinking it through” is what they do best.
