WH says Biden not necessarily going to OK 'major oil project in Alaska' ahead of 2024 election

Remember back in 2019 when Joe Biden was running for the Democrat presidential nomination and promised somebody with zero grip on reality that he was going to “end fossil fuel”?

That guarantee from Biden made climate change alarmist lefties more excited than Kamala Harris while being driven to a Venn diagram convention in an electric school bus. But it’s straight-up delusional.

Fast forward to the days when we now have Biden as president and much higher gas prices (not to mention energy bills, etc.). There’s a presidential election next year so all options are on the table, even apparently ones that are angering Biden’s lefty base:

The White House claims a final decision on this hasn’t been made, but the fact they’re not denying it outright speaks volumes:

In one of the most consequential climate decisions of his administration, President Biden is planning to greenlight to an enormous $8 billion oil drilling project in the North Slope of Alaska, according to a person familiar with the decision.

Alaska lawmakers and oil executives have put intense pressure on the White House to approve the project, citing President Biden’s own calls for the industry to increase production amid volatile gas prices stemming from Russia’s war against Ukraine.

But the proposal to drill for oil has also galvanized young voters and climate activists, many of whom helped elect Mr. Biden and who would view the decision as a betrayal of the president’s promise that he would pivot the nation away from fossil fuels.

Is it just a coincidence that there’s an election next November and energy prices are dragging down Biden’s approval (among other things)? I wondered about that on Twitter:

That story from the Times made the Left PISSED.

It’s something else.

Stay tuned.
