Christopher Rufo has shared more evidence of the state of modern journalism, and it came after he objected to claims in a Washington Post hit piece about him:
WINNING: The Washington Post's latest hit piece against me has collapsed. Education editor Adam Kushner admits to publishing four false statements about my work and has officially retracted them. This is a supreme embarrassment for the newspaper and reporter @valeriestrauss. pic.twitter.com/D6V1Qs2TF6

“The Washington Post takes accuracy extremely seriously.” Really? Often it doesn’t seem that way:
In the face of this rebuke from her editors, Strauss remained defiant. She denied bias and insisted that "the allegation that The Washington Post is trying to destroy your reputation is false" —which, if we take her at her word, suggests, at minimum, gross incompetence.

So it’s either intentional dishonesty or gross incompetence? That’s not the first time we’ve seen that.
More:
I have now forced the Washington Post to retract multiple major claims made against me by the paper's two veteran education reporters, @laurameckler and @valeriestrauss. This is a pattern that suggests a deeper rot at the newspaper.
Democracy dies when the media lies.

Let this serve as a warning to others: if you make false claims against me, I will vigorously defend my reputation and relentlessly attack yours in response. I have a large platform and an aggressive personality—and can force the largest media organizations into submission.

To a large degree “journalism” has gone completely off the rails and it’s nice to see them held to account whenever possible.

Remember when papers were trusted sources of news because they verified their facts before printing? https://t.co/iXyK8U9QJ4

“Publish first, ask questions later (if ever)” is the MSM credo.
I know it's asking for too much, but if they just did their jobs right the first time, like real journalists, they would avoid these humiliations.

Unfortunately there are too many “journalists” who have a different definition of what their job actually is.
