Freedom Convoy update: Ambassador Bridge between Windsor and Detroit blocked in both directions [pics, video]

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is growing increasingly annoyed by Freedom Convoy truckers who are protesting vaccine mandates in that country. This tweet contains plenty of projection, considering what the Canadian government has done in response to Covid-19:

Canadians have the right to protest, to disagree with their government, and to make their voices heard. We’ll always protect that right. But let’s be clear: They don’t have the right to blockade our economy, or our democracy, or our fellow citizens’ daily lives. It has to stop.

It seems that the more Trudeau complains, the larger the protests get. The latest example comes in the form of these reports from the U.S./Canada border on the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Windsor:

The truckers don’t appear to be impressed or intimidated by Trudeau’s rhetoric:

This is in Windsor, Ontario at Huron Church and Girardot close to the Ambassador Bridge (per the uploader). The truckers do not plan on leaving. It is a blockade to end all the mandates. The fire rises. pic.twitter.com/13H0IAEfcI

Here’s what Huron Church Road looked like around 6:15 tonight.. blockades across all lanes of traffic. Ambassador Bridge backed up four hours (as per CBSA) and vehicles being diverted to the tunnel.

In the nearly four hours since, nothing has changed. @CTVWindsor pic.twitter.com/H6dYAzLGCO

Here’s Huron Church and Girardot in Windsor, a couple blocks up from Ambassador Bridge.

People I spoke with say they don’t plan on leaving tonight and that they’re here because of the vaccine mandates.

OPP: The Ambassador Bridge is not accessible in both directions going into the United States as well as entering into Canada.

If you are travelling to the United States, it is suggested that you utilize the Bluewater Bridge in Sarnia.

The Ambassador bridge, the largest crossing point between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, is closed in both directions.

Protests against vaccine mandates have paralyzed Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, for more than a week and are now spreading. https://t.co/BHpaMqHfIa pic.twitter.com/gVoa0vpC2X
