New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is out of office as of 11:59 p.m. tonight, so today he gave what we assume will be one of his last press briefings. Cuomo’s remarks were to give an update on Hurricane Henri as it approaches, but he couldn’t help but try and push a little climate change alarmism:
“Hurricanes, floods–they didn’t happen in New York. But they do now," outgoing New York Gov Andrew Cuomo (D) says, noting his father never had disasters like these in the 80s.

If anything during Cuomo’s remarks deserved a fact-check it’s that claim:
Andrew Cuomo for some reason saying hurricanes didn’t used to hit New York when his dad was governor. Last direct hurricane hit on Long Island was Hurricane Gloria in 1985, Mario Cuomo’s first term.

It’s also worth noting that Cuomo spent part of his briefing defending himself against harassment allegations:
