As we told you earlier, the Trump administration has responded after Bloomberg News announced they wouldn’t have reporters investigating any Democrat contenders for the 2020 nomination because their owner is also running. However, Bloomberg News did say they would continue to cover and investigate President Trump. But as it turns out, Bloomberg reporters will find their access severely limited:
OUCH! Trump has a scoop for Bloomberg News after their statement about not investigating 2020 Dems https://t.co/7qOtipcYQZ

President Trump's 2020 campaign announced it will no longer credential Bloomberg News for events after the outlet said it would not conduct investigations into the Democratic presidential candidates, but would continue to probe the Trump administration. https://t.co/DYeH4ADIJ3

The editor of Bloomberg News didn’t like Trump’s accusation of bias at all:
Bloomberg News editor John Micklethwait hits back: "The accusation of bias couldn't be further from the truth. We have covered Donald Trump fairly & in an unbiased way since he became a candidate..and will continue to do so despite the restrictions imposed by the Trump campaign."
— Michael M. Grynbaum (@grynbaum) December 2, 2019
And with that, there seemed to be an across-the-board bipartisan rolling of the eyes:
"We won't investigate Democrats but we will investigate Trump. Oh our coverage is fair and unbiased and there should be no consequences to our access." Could you get more Orwellian?

Investigating one candidate while refusing to investigate others is bias by definition https://t.co/1dKreQgv45
— David Uberti (@DavidUberti) December 2, 2019
Right?
Bloomberg News publicly proclaimed that it would not investigate the Dem field while continuing to investigate Trump. That is the definition of systemic bias. BN is now nothing more than a propaganda machine and the WH’s decision to revoke its privileges is entirely justified. https://t.co/vbMp40zR1S

Is this a joke?
It doesn't get more biased than Bloomberg News refusing to investigate its own boss now he's running for President, or any other Democrat candidate…but ONLY investigating President Trump. https://t.co/i8McZdEqLp— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 2, 2019
You explicitly aren't going to investigate Bloomberg or dem candidates according to you. That's a *strong* bias (and frankly is ridiculous if you're an actual journalistic outlet), and they're right not to include you.

Amazing. They still don’t get it. Yes – you’re investigating Trump. Everyone understands that. Your policy is NOT to investigate the others. https://t.co/Z9si9UhBef
— Melissa Francis (@MelissaAFrancis) December 2, 2019
I don’t know how this can be persuasive if they don’t hold their candidate owner to the same standard. https://t.co/YTHtC2jpUV

Good luck trying to convince people that a news organization which bears a candidate's name isn't biased.
Just like w/ Bezos ownership of the Washington Post, oligarchic control of our media hurts journalism and democracy https://t.co/3q82NlxeCF

John has been put in a terrible position by Mike Bloomberg
The only solution in my mind is for Bloomberg to no longer cover Trump
Seems insane but so is the decision that Bloomberg, a news org with great reporters, isn’t going to cover any Democrats running for President https://t.co/xP58ObPPOn

And the Trump administration has already helped them do just that, which Bloomberg News is now complaining about.
