Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang proposed his “Freedom Dividend” idea months ago. Back in July he tweeted this:
This is what $1,000 looks like. Imagine getting it once a month. We can make the #FreedomDividend real for every American. ??? pic.twitter.com/LDW2nU73xt

Yang also pitched the idea at the first Democrat debate:

And this weekend, Yang’s still dangling “free money” in front of Democrat primary voters:
I’m literally trying to give everybody money.

Yang is getting some support based on that, but many aren’t buying what Yang’s trying to give away:
No, you’re literally trying to take my money and give it to other people. https://t.co/GF4jYZoNGP

Fortunately, most Americans are smart enough not to fall for the oldest trick in the political playbook. https://t.co/HHL6S4sqEs

No, you are trying to steal money and redistribute it https://t.co/jkDnjzw1AI
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 16, 2019
Which makes the fact that he calls it a “freedom dividend” even more ironic:
Unless its your money, you are stealing it from other people. https://t.co/jK97xLRG4l

If I take $10 from your wallet and give it back to you, I haven't given you $10. If I take $10 from someone else's wallet and give it to you, I'm a thief. You want to use the power of government to do it and expect to be praised for it. Theft by proxy is still theft. https://t.co/de1uAaI8gE
