The Justice Department IG has released a blistering report about James Comey’s time as head of the FBI, concluding that his actions “violated department and FBI policies”:
JUST OUT: The DOJ's Inspector General report on @Comey's handling of "sensitive investigative" information. DOJ declined prosecution, as has been reported, but faults Comey for disseminating his memos about his interactions with Trump in 2017. https://t.co/c7XCUwJMJB

The Washington Post’s “conservative blogger” Jennifer Rubin was among media types starting to circle the wagons around Comey:
This is an odd framing. The IG exonerated Comey, meaning Trump's allegation total BS

And you’ll never guess who Rubin believes is the real culprit in the IG’s report that was highly critical of Comey. Or maybe you will:
? I'm not framing, I'm reporting what it says. DOJ IG concluded that he violated certain FBI policies, but did not release any classified information to the media, and declined to prosecute.

What I am saying is that the IG framed this in a way to exonerate the pres but the media shouldn't simply follow that since the BIG issue is Trump once more lied about illegality

You know, we’re starting to think that every report that shows wrongdoing by somebody from the intel community who’s anti-Trump is not only going to get a pass, but be used somehow as proof that Trump is to blame.
No–the BIG issue is that we had an FBI director that acted unconscionably—as the report shows.

But it’s Trump’s fault, or something.
