Attorney General Bill Barr testified to a Senate subcommittee today, and one of the bigger stories to come from that was when the AG said it’s his belief the FBI under the previous administration spied on the Trump campaign and plans to look into it.
Democrat Sen. Brian Schatz thought “spying” was too much, and gave Barr a chance to choose other words. Schatz probably should have let it go:
Barr says he believes Trump's 2016 campaign was spied on. @brianschatz: "Do you wanna rephrase … I think the word 'spying' could cause people in the cable news ecosystem to freak out."
Barr: "Unauthorized surveillance … is that more appropriate in your eyes?" pic.twitter.com/nhZyIq8MhZ

Barr is slaying these people; “unauthorized surveillance, is that more appropriate in your mind?” https://t.co/QcaQ9Tw0qm

LMAO! Way to get a clarification, senator.
That was perhaps the most low-key but complete pwn I have ever seen.

Should’ve said “Did I stutter?!!!”

Barr should’ve answered, “I don’t find myself in a position of inferiority with a need to pander to the news organizations. I call it as I see it. They will bend whatever I say to suit their own agendas anyway.” https://t.co/5ydMAB7swY

Who cares about the cable news ecosystem? The Obama Administration used government power to spy on a rival political campaign.

If Brian needs pretty words to clean up what the Democrats under Obama may have done…. fine

It was fun watching Brian Schatz head explode when he realized the Dems were f'd.

Look at all the Russian collusion truthers who are suddenly sticklers for evidence. https://t.co/KkdEPVZQ4y

I wonder if @brianschatz thought the same about the use of the word “collusion” when running with the Democratic Media Complex’s manufactured reason for why Hillary Clinton lost the election. https://t.co/wUHt3rP5Vv

That would require a modicum of self-awareness, so probably not.
