Video from many years ago showing now Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dancing in a college video had Newsweek trying to assist with the “conservatives pounce” spin:
— Newsweek (@Newsweek) January 3, 2019
The problem was that there was no conservative pouncing, and Newsweek’s article about the alleged conservative mockery of the video contains absolutely no examples to support the headline:
Examples of conservatives mocking AOC in story: 0.
Journalism is crap. I'm sorry journalists who I like get offended when I say this, but it is.
I'll return the favor by not getting offended when you say bad things about my industry or party. https://t.co/CJTd65lPJR

They tried… a little too hard.
Name one conservative….. one.

Let's give Newsweek the benefit of the doubt here…
Let's assume the account (now deleted) that distributed the video wasn't a burner account.
That's one alt-right nut job.. Newsweek offers no evidence of a second "conservative" in the article. https://t.co/NLluARZSQi

I admit I made a tweet with much the same message as this article, but who are the "conservatives" indicated in your tweet? It's just one anonymous Twitter account. Conservatives are mocking this just like liberals. Very misleading.

Can you please list these conservatives? I can't seem to find it anywhere

"Conservatives" = One anonymous Twitter user with a now-deleted account.https://t.co/1YGLZL8voi

Her dancing was quite adorable and showed her personality…. as a conservative I don’t like her policies and politics
— Dave (@ImDaverich) January 5, 2019
Which conservatives were those? Everyone I follow liked it.

Nice try though, Newsweek.
