'Tolerance'! SNL alum's CNN New Year's resolution is to 'make sure the Republican party dies' [video]

The world welcomed 2019 in various ways, and among them was actress and former Saturday Night Live performer Jane Curtin telling everybody watching CNN what she hoped to accomplish in the next 52 weeks:

Just now on #CNNNYE: Jane Curtin says her New Year's resolution is to "make sure that the Republican Party dies"

It was nice to see politics take a back seat in place of a nonpartisan welcoming of a new year. Oh, wait…

Can you imagine the outrage by @CNN if a republican had said this about the Democrat Party https://t.co/aX6O2TzN60

We can’t imagine the same thing said about the Dem Party would have survived the broadcast delay, but you never know.

If it dies I’m guessing Jane Curtin is not going to be its killer https://t.co/b9MGGD6tnI

Now I know what Jane Curtin got for Christmas. Bitterness.
