Dan Rather has a problem with people who aren’t “experts” on a topic weighing in and being taken seriously on that same topic. Case-in-point, the debate about man-made climate change:
When someone starts an argument with "I'm not a scientist, but…" maybe we should stop listening to them weighing in on science. And maybe news shows should stop asking these pundits to talk about something they’re not qualified to talk about.

Hmm, interesting.
Hmm: Dan Rather, who isn't a scientist but who often weighs in on climate science, suggests we shouldn't listen to non-scientists who weigh in on science.https://t.co/QaSNIU7uZ9 https://t.co/kqLxhqizju

Funny, that! And then there’s a large segment of the mainstream media that Rather isn’t taking into consideration, which includes himself:
Talking about things you're not qualified to talk about is basically the entire business model for major news outlets, though. https://t.co/GzPA2RfeYO

Not knowing what he was talking about never stopped Dan Rather from chattering to fill air-time. https://t.co/hLfSAcpirq

Bingo!
Rather doesn’t seem to follow his own advice:

Chaser:
Rather helped make a point, just not the one he thought he was making.
To wit, all I'm saying here is that everyone does this, and it's fine. You're allowed to have opinions on things even if you're not an expert, and the statement Rather describes is frequently fruitful as lay perspectives often open the door to better understanding.

I'm not a journalist, but in a republic where the press is given unique freedom to protect that republic, maybe reporters should listen to people whose lives and freedom are affected by policy choices of elites in science and technology. And if they don't maybe we need new press. https://t.co/cyA7Ooz01I

Don’t forget about Hollywood libs, who, as far as we know, have never have their “science” cred questioned by Dan Rather:

Ditto for Al Gore and others.
Moving on…
Okay Dan, let's talk about fonts and fictional documents. Something you are definitely qualified to discuss. https://t.co/jYLrdH6DCK
