President Trump’s comment about a judge on the Ninth Circuit Court has prompted Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts to offer these comments in response:
Rare public pushback from Chief Justice Roberts to Pres Trump slamming "an Obama judge" on the Ninth Circuit for blocking his rule barring asylum application from migrants entering US illegally. pic.twitter.com/hcrKiMAD1C

Rebuke to Trump from Chief Justice Roberts on independent judiciary: “We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges. What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them."

The most stunning thing about this John Roberts statement is that he gave it to the AP, not during public remarks or in a law journal or any of the myriad ways he could have softened its edges. He wanted it out there and now, through the front door. https://t.co/MBzRxXFBhJ

The brutal political battles over judicial nominations sure don’t make it look like everybody thinks judges won’t favor one side over the other.
If that were true, then the Dems would not have made such a push back on the honorable Kavanaugh.

If this is the case, then why was there such furor over Kavanaugh. His conservative values should not come into play.

The list of examples like that showing why Roberts’ statement is confusing is quite lengthy.
Pardon me, but if that were true, the appointees of one party’s president would not face such opposition by the other party.

Go figure!
Appreciate the sentiment but any lawyer practicing in federal court knows who appointed the judge(s) they are in front of and handicaps how that cuts for their case. https://t.co/M9JEatwC0x

Because nobody has ever referred to judges before based on which president nominated them. ? https://t.co/oj6yDcdJES

How is Justice Roberts unaware of the 9th circuit court?
— MrEd (@carolinaednac) November 21, 2018
It was still a judge appointed by Obama. Roberts’ statement doesn’t change that.

Only wish the Chief Justice's comments were true. Experience and observations say differently

There’s a lot of disagreement with Roberts’ take on this, that’s for sure.
