Senator and possible 2020 Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris again wants everybody to know she’s from the government and she’s here to help them:
Nationally, over 21M Americans spend more than 30% of their paychecks on rent. That’s absurd.
I introduced the #RentReliefAct to help ease the burden. This equals more money in people’s pockets at the end of the year.

Gee, what could possibly go wrong?
In many cities, it is the government's fault that rents are high. You want a government solution to a government problem. This will lead to new problems and of course, you will suggest more government solutions. We have way too much government as it is.

1. This is not absurd.
2. The feds have no business sticking their nose in this to begin with.
3. Even if they did, a national solution doesn't work for an issue with causes that vary depending on location. https://t.co/KO9ssO9sji

On what planet is paying 30% of your income on housing "absurd"? What is a "not absurd" amount? On Planet Harris, 0%?

The cost of rent or mortgages is actually a hot topic with socialist randos on Twitter. Especially ones from states like California who have enacted many of their policies, including severe zoning and construction restrictions that drive housing costs way up.

Could we interest the senator in a big cup of self-awareness?
Really? In what states? Those run by #Democrats? “Rent control” distorts markets, making rent higher. https://t.co/QfzJGOBAeP

Rent control gimmicks and zoning restrictions the left generally implements cause most of the problem. Also, it's really stupid to apply a national policy when the problem is in pockets generally run by Democrats. See: The Bay Area, NYC, etc… https://t.co/e01o4K33aQ

Which is why they then want the rest of the country to chip in and ease the burden caused by their own regulations.
