Yesterday, the hashtag #InternationalWomensDay was trended high for a long time. While that was happening, here’s what was going on in Iran:
Iran jails woman for removing headscarf in public https://t.co/3sTdxWNzsQ

This is outrageous. Iranian woman sentenced to TWO YEARS in prison for removing headscarf in public. https://t.co/5yRxgwxhum

- Our money’s on Sinema: Big (sorry, little) tough guy Robert Reich DRAGGED after calling for ACTUAL violence against Kyrsten Sinema for not voting as she was told
- 'Textbook definition of gaslighting': Jen Psaki attempts to spin President Biden's claim that the 2022 election 'could easily be illegitimate'
The woman in Iran who removed her headscarf during the anti-regime protests in that country became one of the more powerful symbols of the pro-freedom movement, and now she’s reportedly receiving “psychological counseling” before going to jail:
It's a moderate 2 year jail sentence. https://t.co/QT6QbAM92k

I’m sure our national women’s groups will be all over the media in outrage! We won’t hold our breath

The next time an idiot tries to sell you on the "freedom" of the headscarf, like that tool Sarsour, remember this woman and thousands like her. https://t.co/Q9TEg7TFt7

It's devastating to imagine what she'll be subjected to in there. Past reports of treatment of jailed activists are utterly horrifying.

Handmaid's Tale is a timely story for America or something. https://t.co/pY6RUSrNV7

And the U.N. continues to not only avert its eyes, but go out of its way to give the regime a voice:
2 years in jail for Iranian woman who removed veil to protest forced hijab law. Tehran prosecutor: She "encouraged moral corruption" & "must be seen by a psychiatrist." #Iran sits on the @UN's Women's Rights Commission. Really.#InternationalWomensDay https://t.co/8LxCvGeDCy

Just a few days ago, Ayatollah Khamenei lectured the U.S. about gun control and called America “morally corrupt,” which obviously is his definition of freedom.
