As Twitchy told you yesterday, the United Nations prepared a resolution to “nullify” President Trump’s decision for the U.S. to formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The problem for the U.N. is that the U.S. has veto power, and used it today:
BREAKING: United States vetoes UN resolution that would have required Trump to rescind declaration of Jerusalem as Israel capital.

The UN Security Council has voted 14-1 in favor of a resolution calling on Trump to rescind declaration on Jerusalem. The US vetoed, per @carlandry_afp

Ambassador Nikki Haley let the gathered bureaucrats know what they could do with their effort:
Nikki Haley on UNSC vote:“The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy. What we have witnessed here is an insult. It won’t be forgotten. It is one more example of the UN doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli Palestinian conflict."

The first U.S. veto at the #UN Security Council. Amb. @nikkihaley is the lone hand raised objecting to resolution on @POTUS @realDonaldTrump #Jerusalem #Israel policy. #Haley: "The United States will not be told by any country where to put our embassy." @FoxNews

The fact that this would even come to a vote at the UN is a bad sign for the UN.

The UN cannot force the President to rescind a recognition. https://t.co/W9IFSaYtQ2

Wha? What would the UN have anything to say about what cities we recognize as capitals? https://t.co/N6IQDEqB3v

The bureaucrats at the U.N. would tell everybody what to do if they were allowed to do so.
