As we told you a few days ago, a New York Times examination of Obama vs. Trump lies sparked a whole bunch of facepalms. The NYT concluded that “in his first 10 months, Trump told nearly six times as many falsehoods as Obama did during his entire presidency,” and found that Obama told only eight lies during his entire presidency. Yes, eight.
Managing Editor of the Washington Examiner Philip Klein spotted major BS in the Times’ analysis and put it into writing after receiving a challenge:
Yesterday, @matthewjdowd challenged me to show my work when I claimed Obama told 18 falsehoods about Obamacare in 2009 alone. Challenge accepted: https://t.co/yCMjjGpaBV

You won’t believe what Klein discovered were NOT counted as Obama lies (or maybe you will). Here are just a few:
Not on the NYT lie list: Obama claiming Obamacare “will more than pay for itself.” https://t.co/yCMjjGpaBV
— Philip Klein (@philipaklein) December 15, 2017
Not on the NYT Times lie list: Obamacare "could save families $2,500 in the coming years — $2,500 per family." https://t.co/yCMjjGpaBV
— Philip Klein (@philipaklein) December 15, 2017
Not on the NYT lie list: Obamacare’s individual mandate is not a middle class tax increase https://t.co/yCMjjGpaBV
— Philip Klein (@philipaklein) December 15, 2017
Because it bears repeating, Klein found that Obama told 18 lies just in selling Obamacare. The NY Times found only eight total in Obama’s two terms as president.
Excellent work.
Be prepared to be muted or blocked in the future. Dowd isn't interested in factual conversations. https://t.co/qn4eBMEsax— Sandy 〽️ (@RightGlockMom) December 15, 2017
