There was a lot going on in Washington, D.C., today at the “Million Vets March.” However, you’d have been hard pressed to find very many “real journalists” in the mainstream media providing any coverage:
Following the #1MVetMarch even tho media isn't covering it #shame. God Bless our #troops and our #veterans You will always make us #proud
— Holly Vejrostek (@Hveggy12) October 13, 2013
I'm told Fox News did do some live coverage of the #vetsmarch, so that's good.

Well, we shouldn’t say some in the media weren’t providing any coverage, because some “real reporters” did manage to use all their skills to sniff out a single attendee who stuck out like a sore thumb:
Pro tip: If you want to express your love of US Army & its monuments … leave the Confederate flag at home. pic.twitter.com/dyByu9av51

Notice how Salon not-so-artfully turned that one guy into the entire crowd:
Protestors wave a Confederate flag in front of the White House http://t.co/XKMur2Ybos
— Salon.com (@Salon) October 13, 2013
Salon’s little trick there was fairly obvious:
Fascinating use of plural noun RT @Salon Protestors wave a Confederate flag in front of the White House http://t.co/wXN4tTbLLy

In many parts of America, waving a Confederate flag outside the home of a black family would be considered a very hostile act.
— Jeffrey Goldberg (@JeffreyGoldberg) October 13, 2013
I love how @JeffreyGoldberg switches the David & Goliath in the vets march. Obama is the victim, elderly vets are the oppressor.

The odds are better than average that for many reasons, the “Million Vet March” will be reported in the mainstream press as “Confederate flag” and little more.
In other words, StompyFoot Media, angry at being called away from Sunday brunch and Bloodys, throws tantrum by showing 1 Confed flag. #fail
— featherchick (@featherchick) October 13, 2013
Look for political cartoons on Monday to all show that one confederate flag as though that was the whole march.
— Ben Howe (@BenHowe) October 13, 2013
The identity or even affiliation of the person with the confederate flag isn’t known, and chances are the mainstream press won’t be curious in the least, because if it were to turn out the person was a plant of some sort it would ruin the narrative. However, maybe a story about irony is in order:
The journalists who are now smearing WWII vets as racists have nothing but respect and love for KKK Kleagle Robert Byrd (Democrat).
— #NeverTrump (@OrwellForks) October 13, 2013
We’ll let the MSM answer this one, and enjoy the cricket sounds until they do:
How many rape tents were there in DC today?
— Jim Jamitis (@anthropocon) October 13, 2013
Finally, here’s something for organizers to remember if there’s a “Million Vets March” sequel:
If the vets protesting the White House wanted to get the press on their side, they should have thrown someone else's medals over the fence.
— jon gabriel (@exjon) October 13, 2013
One unidentified moron showed up with a confederate flag, so if the press is planning to insinuate most of the crowd showed up only because they hate Obama and not because they love their country and want to keep its memorials open, let them demonstrate a little courage and tell this man to his face. We think he’s earned the courtesy.
