RIP Ernest Borgnine

Two legends in one week. First, the sheriff of Mayberry, and now Quinton McHale.

Borgnine starred in the 1955 film Marty, and portrayed Captain McHale in McHale’s Navy from 1962-1966. He also voiced “Mermaid Man” on Spongebob SquarePants. He was 95 years old.

R.I.P. Ernest Borgnine. Rare to see a man of so much talent and wit. He was great in RED, Airwolf, Dirty Dozen.

You and me both! RT @ESPNMcGee: God speed Ernest Borgnine. I knew him as Dominic on Airwolf. Lil Girl knew him as Mermaid Man on Spongebob.

Oh, no! Oscar-winning actor Ernest Borgnine has died at 95. I really wish I had met him and got his autograph at Dragon*Con last year. 🙁
