We've been repeatedly lectured on the importance of accepting whatever identity a person presents. 'How do you know what a woman is? She will tell you!' Believe trans people! That is, of course, until said identity is no longer convenient.
As The Daily Signal summarized, 'A woman who used male aliases shot two people at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday, according to police. Two off-duty police officers fatally shot the suspect, whose gun reportedly bore the word “Palestine,” after she had opened fire in the megachurch.'
Now, for activists who love nothing more than to make long-dead historical figures trans on far less evidence, this should be sufficient. However, LGBTQ Nation argues not once, but in two separate articles the evidence simply isn't there.
The shooter used a male alias, but police say there’s no indication that she’s trans.

She rushed to blame the shooting entirely on the shooter’s identity… and then got that identity wrong.

They demand, 'The right-wing claims originate from reports that the 36-year-old shooter, Genesse Ivonne Moreno, also used the male alias Jeffrey Escalante in the past, The Houston Chronicle reported. Right-wingers have increasingly blamed public shootings on the “mentally ill” trans identities of the shooters.'
Now you may notice a slight contradiction here, as they insist the shooter was not trans, they indignantly whine that 'right-wingers' love to accuse trans shooters of being, well, trans.
'The shooter used a male alias, but police say there's no indication that she's trans.'
The police did not say that. The police said: 'She utilized both male and female names but, through all of our investigation to this point — talking with individuals, interviews, documents — Houston Police Department reports she has been identified this entire time as female: she/her,'
Since when do LGBTQ activists take the word of police identification on records to determine gender identity?
The Human Rights Campaign insists that the name a person uses should be the only name referenced. 'Proper names and pronouns used by the transgender person should be used by others, regardless of their legal name or gender marker on identification documents.'
They also note in a report of a transgender murder, 'Unfortunately, police and multiple media outlets continue to misgender and misname Scurlock -- even after being made aware of her transgender identity. Government agencies, media and others denying someone’s identity is unfortunately emblematic of the callous and disrespectful treatment that transgender individuals too often face in our society. Misgender of transgender victims of violence can also embolden anti-trans violence by reinforcing the prejudice at the heart of the attacks.'
Finally, other LGBTQ outlets have already reported the trans identity of the shooter.

As Sara Gonzales points out:
They want you to believe the shooter was not trans, even though she was born Genesse and later identified as “Jeffrey,” and pictures prove she became significantly more masculine looking.

They want you to believe the shooter was not trans, even though she was born Genesse and later identified as “Jeffrey,” and pictures prove she became significantly more masculine looking.
They want you to believe that the shooter was white, even though records show she was from El Salvador.
They want you to believe just the word “Palestine” was written on the gun, and it’s totally unconnected to her antisemitic writings.
And they definitely don’t want you asking questions about what her path to citizenship was that allowed her to vote in the 2020 election, with a rap sheet as long as hers.
Please, don’t use your brains. They’d prefer you blame the gun and call it a day.
Of course, the moment a suspect or shooter is identified as a white male or rightwing, all hesitation to declare absolute motive goes right out the window. It could not be more obvious.
Now, simply being trans is no more proof of motive than being white is. However ...

The Aberdeen shooter identified as trans.
The Nashville shooter identified as trans.
One thing is VERY clear: the modern trans movement is radicalizing activists into terrorists.
This isn't merely an issue of identity politics. You can't simply assume a white shooter had racist motives because he was white, but when a leftwing activist, supporting violent activism, targets a conservative Christian church, perhaps their trans identity might have something to do with it.
The shooter's gender status has not been confirmed as trans. But let's say that were true. Why is that important to you? I'd love to talk to someone about this. There's no shortage of bad cis people and there are millions of trans people. A few of them are bound to be bad. https://t.co/Femsrim7Fg

The media is so concerned with protecting certain groups, they are simply terrified of reporting anything that might make that group look bad. That puts everyone in danger. If trans activists are being radicalize through relentless propaganda and activism convincing them they are targets of hate and violence, we should talk about that.
Just a reminder that killing us is quite literally their goal https://t.co/h8rQzOKzC7

Whether this particular shooter was trans or not, the hypocrisy from the LGBTQ left is obscene and the desperate attempt to protect the narrative makes everyone less safe. It is obvious this person was politically motivated. That should be plenty for everyone to denounce.
