Terrell Owens cut by Indoor Football League, loses ownership stake

Just a couple weeks after appearing on Dr. Phil, Terrell Owens has once again hit rock bottom. There isn’t a single NFL team interested in his services and now the Indoor Football League doesn’t want him either!

The Allen Wranglers announced their decision to cut ties with the 38-year-old on Tuesday. In addition to releasing him from their roster, T.O. will also lose his ownership stake in the team.

Frankel cited Owens’ refusal to play in two upcoming road games that are critical to the Wranglers’ playoff hopes and Owens’ no-show for a scheduled appearance at a local children’s hospital as the breaking points in the team’s relationship with the receiver.

“Our fans are amongst the best in the league, and it is impossible to maintain a player when even our fans notice and comment on a player’s lack of effort both on and off the field,” Frankel said in a statement released to ESPNDallas.com. “We need to do what is best for this team, our fans and this community.”

Owens has never been a likable sports figure. Throughout his career he has been a cocky trouble maker with no respect for his fans or his teammates. That’s probably why its hard to find anyone offering any sympathy.
