For the past couple of days, former New England Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest has been attacking current Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker for approaching his franchise tag with a diva-like attitude.
The 30-year-old receiver has been publicly trying to get a long-term deal with the Patriots and is considering a hold-out.
“I just don’t like the diva attitude,” McGinest said. “Let’s keep it real. Prior to the Patriots, this is a guy who played three years, had 96 receptions, never had a 1,000-yard season.
Finally Welker had enough. He decided to remind McGinest, and everyone else, that the NFL is a business. If he doesn’t take advantage of his leverage while he has it, the Patriots could get rid of him down the line just like they did with McGinest.

McGinest also exchanged words with one fan who questioned his criticism of Welker.
