NBC's hit 'Smash' renewed for second season

Smash is a smash!

Well, not exactly. But Smash is good enough that NBC has just announced it has picked it up for a second season.

The series, which debuted Feb. 6, follows the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty struggle to put on a musical about Marilyn Monroe. Evolving from an idea of executive producer Steven Spielberg, the series also stars Debra Messing and Anjelica Huston.
