One of my pet peeves is when a celebrity is asked about his religion. They almost always answer with something like, "I'm not into organized religion, but I do consider myself a very spiritual person." That would seem to describe the members of James Talarico's church.
I'm certain Jimmy Kimmel doesn't consider himself a very spiritual person, but he was happy to pull the same stunt Stephen Colbert pulled and interview Talarico off-air, where he was more than happy to let Talarico preach about Jesus and what Jesus would do if he entered the Senate today. Why, he'd be flipping over those fancy tables.
We've heard a lot about Talarico's church. It funds a trans summer camp for kids and out-of-state abortions. His pastor says people in the congregation wish President Donald Trump's assassin "had been more successful." A lesbian minister at his church was caught on video saying, "I can guarantee you that once he gets elected, he’ll change his tune back to where he was."
There's another video from Talarico's church going around. I'm not sure if it's new or not, but it's new to me. That minister at Talarico's church admits that "we don't have a lot of people who are religious here" and that they're not a belief-based church, but a values-based church. I'm not much of a religious person myself, but that sounds like more progressive word salad. It's just a leftist social club.

This church uses an "Inclusive Bible" that removes the words "Our Father" from the prayer.

And yet you get some heathen like Kimmel who just eats this stuff up. Who else does Kimmel ask about what Jesus would do? The fact that the Talarico campaign is pushing his so-called Christianity so hard is just so desperate and distasteful.
