Trump Officially Sues BBC for Deceptively Editing His 'Stop the Steal' Speech

A couple of BBC executives lost their jobs over a scandal at the state-funded network, which aired a deceptively edited video of President Donald Trump's January 6 "Stop the Steal" rally. He's suing them for two counts of $5 billion each.

Good. I'm tired of the media lying to push a false narrative. Here, they were obviously making it sound like Trump was going to walk to the Capitol with them, ready to fight. They pieced together two parts of his speech that were more than 50 minutes apart. This was no accident … they had a narrative ready to go and just needed the right quote, even if they had to make it up. It's like when NBC News edited George Zimmerman's 911 call to make him sound like it was he who brought up the issue of Trayvon Martin's race, not the 911 dispatcher.

I'm old enough to remember when NBC News rigged General Motors trucks with incendiary devices to make it look like they'd explode if hit.

Trump has already received settlements from ABC News and CBS News. It seems neither of the networks wanted the case to end up in court. I'm guessing the BBC will fight back, though.

It looks like the BBC wasn't the only outlet to alter Trump's speech. Sweden's SVT also edited Trump's speech to make it sound like he was calling for an insurrection.

Again, I'm personally glad that Trump takes these issues seriously and doesn't let them slide. All of these news networks know exactly what they're doing — altering reality.

I hope it goes to trial, and I hope he wins. Everyone freaked out when they thought there was foreign election interference coming from Russia, but the real foreign election interference was coming from the U.K. and Sweden.
