Sen. Tammy Duckworth Lists Better Uses of Money Than a Parade for a Tin-Pot Dictator Wannabe

I was working Saturday night running the site, so I didn't get to see the entirety of the U.S. Army's 250th birthday parade. What I did see, though, made me very proud of our soldiers. In college, I dropped out of ROTC after just one day. Given the chance to do it again, I would have stuck with it. I wish I had military service on my resume.

There wasn't just a parade, though. Soldiers were mingling with civilians, many of whom tried on some military hardware for some photos. There were an estimated 200,000 people there who wanted to be there … they weren't being sponsored by Indivisible. A few million more watched live on X.

Again, I was moved by the parade. Seeing Army uniforms throughout America's history really brought home how hallowed an institution the Army is.

I'm not sure which network reached out to Sen. Tammy Duckworth to get her reaction to "that spectacle we saw this weekend about the Army." It looks like "Morning Joe" on MSNBC. When the interviewer calls the parade "that spectacle," he gives himself away, not that we didn't already know he was a liberal who would have been happier at a "No Kings" protest.

This video is remarkable because it shows a Democrat concerned about spending money. That $60 million could have fed all of the homeless veterans in America … and I'm certain politicians like Gov. Gavin Newsom would have made sure that every cent was spent to feed homeless vets.

Notice how they had a camera ready to dolly in on Duckworth's wheelchair before cutting to a shot of her face. Usually, they just picture you sitting at a desk, but I guess they had some point they wanted to make about Duckworth being a veteran.

The parade wasn't for President Trump's birthday, and it wasn't to prove that we have the greatest military on the face of the Earth. It was the Army's 250th birthday. Doesn't that call for some kind of recognition? Again, I don't believe for a second that Duckworth was concerned about the cost. If Elon Musk and DOGE found $60 million to cut, it would be a different story.

Every year.

It is sad that the parade was made political by those who said Trump was holding it for his own ego.

I still remember going to the Memorial Day parade every year in the little town where I was born. I was OK back then to be patriotic.
