Democrats Scramble to Un-Woke Themselves Before 2028 Race

Twitter

I was assured that being woke was a good thing, at least in the black community, until white conservatives appropriated the term and made it negative. Some Democrat politicians still brag that they're woke, but according to POLITICO, a bunch with their eyes on 2028 are in a scramble to "un-woke" themselves, or at least appear to.

This reminds me of the piece I did earlier on Bill Maher saying that Democrats should try to win back Elon Musk, after calling him a Nazi and white nationalist and firebombing his Tesla dealerships and keying swastikas into people's cars. Sure, Democrats can un-woke themselves. They just have to do a 180-degree turn on illegal immigration, "gender-affirming care" for minors, reparations, DEI, critical race theory, school choice, etc.

It's so ridiculous that they're spending $20 million on their Speaking to American Men (SAM) program so they can learn the "syntax" of the middle-class, white male voter.

And they used a pre-beard photo of Pete Buttigieg to illustrate their piece?

Adam Wren and Elena Schneider write:

“Stop talking about bathrooms and locker rooms and start talking about the classroom,” said [Rahm] Emanuel, the former ambassador to Japan and two-term Chicago mayor who said he is open to a 2028 presidential campaign. “If one child is trying to figure out their pronoun, I accept that, but the rest of the class doesn’t know what a pronoun is and can’t even define it.”

Each of these candidates are, either deliberately or tacitly, countering a perceived weakness in their own political record or party writ large—Emanuel, for example, has called the Democratic Party “weak and woke”; Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) has said the party needs more “alpha energy”; others like Newsom are perhaps acknowledging a more socially liberal bent in the past.

On diversity, equity, and inclusion, some in the party are also sending a signal they’re no longer kowtowing to their left flank. Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg removed his pronouns from his social media bio months ago, and questioned how the party has communicated about it.

Yes, removing pronouns from their social media bios is going to convince conservatives they've changed their positions. Another potential candidate, Gov. Gavin Newsom, has recently backed off from the issue of forcing boys into girls' sports.

No one's going "un-woke." Like Joe Biden's cognitive decline, they're just hoping to hide it until after the election.

We're supposed to believe that Tampon Tim Walz was the "code-talker" for middle-class, white American males.

They have gotten a start by paying less attention to people like Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, but it's not going to work. We have the videos, we have the voting records.
