Disabled Queer Chicanx Educator Goes on Anti-Trump Rant at Washington State House

Twitter

What is it with public school teachers? They seem to view themselves similarly to journalists, meaning that they're the most important people in society and hold it together. My sister was a teacher; my cousin's a teacher. They were normal. I'd like to think there are more normal teachers out there, but just about every other nutcase featured on Libs of TikTok is a teacher.

This meeting of the Washington State House Education Board is the kind of thing I had to attend when I was a newspaper reporter. You'll note how there's practically nobody there.

"Teachers have historically held the gap between humanity and fascism," says Tracy Castro-Gill. As I said, they see themselves as the saviors of democracy just like journalists do. Just teach the curriculum, all right?

I couldn't find the original story in the Daily Mail, so I'm not sure exactly what legislation this teacher is talking about. The Washington State Board of Education is pretty woke.

… citing George Orwell and accusing lawmakers of "erasing" gender-expansive people.

Castro-Gill, once fired from Seattle Public Schools for the failure of their Ethnic Studies program, also introduced an "Ethnic Math" curriculum claiming math was a tool of racism.

The former educator, who was married to a convicted child molester, demanded stronger protections for teachers—despite being removed from their $93K role after a series of workplace controversies.

"Claiming math was a tool of racism." That's not original … back in 2019, I did a post on Seattle public schools and how they were introducing the themes of “Power and Oppression” and “History of Resistance and Liberation" to the math curriculum. Some of the essential questions to be addressed included, “Where do power and oppression show up in our math experiences?” and “How is math manipulated to allow inequality and oppression to persist?”

Ethnic math.

So a "disabled queer Chicanx educator" … they check all the boxes. We'd better listen to them. (I'm using their preferred pronouns to show how stupid it sounds.)

I've looked around to try to find what legislation is "erasing" them.

If you have to introduce yourself to prove how high up you are on the intersectionality ladder, whatever you say next is going to be nonsense.
