Back when Christopher Rufo started his campaign against critical race theory, his detractors argued that CRT wasn't taught in public schools — it was only taught in law schools. If that were true, they'd have no problem banning it from K-12, right, since it wasn't being taught anyway?
As I've said, no, they don't teach a class called "Critical Race Theory." However, public school DEI departments force teachers and administrators to sit through presentations on critical race theory, so the teachers can then weave it into their lesson plans. We'll give MSNBC's resident conspiracy theorist Joy Reid credit, though; she had Rufo on as a guest to debate CRT.
Naturally, the media had a fit about it and went to the mat defending CRT, which was not being taught in schools. They tried to float the narrative that banning CRT meant that schools wouldn't teach about slavery in history class.
Back in 2021, Rufo put together a briefing book for concerned parents:
I'm proud to announce the Critical Race Theory Briefing Book, a policy and communications guide for families, schools, and legislative leaders.

Critical race theory is an academic discipline that holds that the United States is a nation founded on white supremacy and oppression, and that these forces are still at the root of our society. Critical race theorists believe that American institutions, such as the Constitution and legal system, preach freedom and equality, but are mere “camouflages” for naked racial domination. They believe that racism is a constant, universal condition: it simply becomes more subtle, sophisticated, and insidious over the course of history.
In simple terms, critical race theory reformulates the old Marxist dichotomy of oppressor and oppressed, replacing the class categories of bourgeoisie and proletariat with the identity categories of White and Black. But the basic conclusion is the same: in order to liberate man, society must be fundamentally transformed through moral, economic, and political revolution.
Key terms: Whiteness, white privilege, white fragility, oppressor/oppressed, intersectionality, systemic racism, spirit murder, equity, antiracism, collective guilt, affinity spaces.
Ah yes, we did a couple of posts about "spirit murder." Joe Biden's pick for Deputy Secretary of Education promoted the concept that schools "spirit murder" black children and that white teachers should undergo "antiracist therapy."
Rep. Jasmine Crockett already embarrassed herself once today; here she is again, posting this video herself as if it were some kind of win:
Y’all know you can count on me to cut through the @HouseGOP lies.

This week, they tried it again: blaming ‘Critical Race Theory’ in an Oversight Hearing on declining K-12 student performance.
I fact-checked them in real time: Critical Race Theory is not taught in K-12. pic.twitter.com/bzyDfIFvyX

Here's proof from Morning Joe 🤣https://t.co/2zT990Ja0K
"July 6th 2021: "The national education association the country's largest teachers union adopted the resolution last week to support the teaching of Critical Race Theory, or CRT."

Of COURSE they are not “teaching Critical Race Theory.”
They are USING Critical Race Theory to control HOW they teach EVERYTHING.
Enough of the gaslighting m, Jasmine… we all know that this. You are late to the game.
I don't know about you, but I'm getting really frustrated living under a government made up of people significantly dumber and less informed than I am. I think the smartest people stay out of politics — they know they can be of more use elsewhere. So we end up with Crockett here praising herself for "fact-checking."
Rufo is right: critical race theory is just Marxism with class swapped out for race. Its intention is to destroy the country by convincing kids that it's illegitimate and there needs to be a revolution against the "oppressor" — and teachers are giving out worksheets to kids so they can identify as oppressors or the oppressed.
In 2021, the NEA approved a new business item directing “the accurate and honest teaching of social studies topics,” such as slavery, “informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory."
It might not be "taught" in schools, but it has infected the school curriculum. Parents were smart enough to recognize it when they saw it and began confronting school boards, leading to the "domestic terrorist" designation.
DEI is poison. CRT is poison.
