The latest front in the PR war Gaza is waging against Israel is maternity wards. First, the U.S. has confirmed that Hamas has its headquarters underneath Al-Shifa hospital, so literally using babies as human shields. Second, Hamas slaughtered and kidnapped babies on October 7 … they didn't seem to have any qualms about killing Jewish babies.
I did a post a day ago about Hamas video showing panic in the maternity ward at Al-Shifa hospital.
This is the panic ensuing inside of the maternity ward at Al Shifa hospital after Israeli forces bombed the hospital yard and its surroundings multiple times. Maternity wards are medical professionals, new mothers, new babies, fathers, and other family. Israel is bombing babies. pic.twitter.com/j0kcgjoMGu

Looks like a lot of fighting-age men to me.
There was a lot of fuss when Israel said it was cutting off electricity and fuel to Gaza — what would happen to all the babies in incubators?
Now NBC News is reporting a doctor as saying that the war is causing women to deliver their babies prematurely.

Dr. Sirwana says more than 800 babies have been born at the Nasser Hospital since October 7, compared to the roughly 400 he would expect normally each month.

"This war is leading to many cases where women are delivering prematurely at seven months or eight months," he says.
Really.
With no power for incubators, premature babies at Al-Shifa hospital, the main hospital in the Gaza Strip, have been individually wrapped in blankets and then huddled together in an effort to keep them warm.

At least three have died already, according to the hospital.
Is NBC News' source this video that was going around?
Voices we heard in Gaza we will never forget. This video should be seen by the whole world. Premature babies at Gaza Hospitals cry desperately for help, due to the Israeli siege of the hospital. No food, water, electricity or aid has been allowed in. What humanity looks like 2023 pic.twitter.com/XNMgIRwoxG

But they do still have electricity:

You’re repeating Hamas propaganda. They sent a cropped image. The rest of the image shows there’s electricity. pic.twitter.com/nwSrkjFIfO

The hospital certainly has generators, and Israel has tried to deliver fuel to the hospital to keep them running. From NBC News:
As outrage grows over fate of babies in Gaza hospital, Israel offers incubators and fuel.

But doctors say the gestures are inadequate. https://t.co/QBfCX6tvh5
And Hamas has been seen refusing fuel:
A Gaza health ministry spokesman said that head of Al-Shifa Hospital refused to accept fuel because “taking this fuel would give Israel credit for allowing fuel into Gaza.” https://t.co/INqoucP3Fl

Hamas would rather Palestinian babies suffer and die than accept life-saving fuel from Israel at the hospital they use as a terrorism headquarters — while also blaming Israel for the lack of fuel. There is no moral equivalence in this war. https://t.co/SEtJgmbdz5

"Fuel Delivery Dispute"
— Jeryl Bier (@JerylBier) November 13, 2023
What is the dispute? Israel delivered the fuel, Hamas said they didn't want it because they didn't want Israel getting credit for delivering the fuel. How is that a dispute? https://t.co/o3MRsRmT4G pic.twitter.com/N7Bkp4BqFS
Since they do have electricity, why not move the babies back into the incubators where they belong?
And why doesn't Hamas surrender and release all of the babies it's holding hostage? Is anyone concerned about their welfare?
Do I believe Hamas would set this all up for a photo op? Yes. Maybe all of these concerned doctors should have a word with Hamas about starting the war, headquartering underneath the hospital, and refusing to surrender?
