As Twitchy reported earlier, Reuters covered a protest over the death of Jordan Neely, the “fellow subway passenger” who died after being held in a chokehold by a former Marine. Kudos to Reuters for not referring to Neely as a “beloved Michael Jackson impersonator” who was lynched. There were more reporters there than protesters, some of whom had come from the New York Young Communist League.
It may sound as though conservatives are cheering Neely’s death, which just isn’t true. We can’t overlook, however, that Neely had been arrested 44 times and had an outstanding warrant for felony assault.
Emma Vigeland of “The Majority Report with Sam Seder” had some thoughts about Neely’s death. First, everyone who’s taken public transit has been in this kind of situation, including herself. But it’s “bourgeois” to put your personal discomfort as the central issue, which really is that you’re dealing with someone in pain.
Emma Vigeland on the Majority Report today says that the desire to feel safe on public transit is bourgeois and explains how one time she suppressed those bourgeois feelings when she was assaulted on the subway by a mentally ill vagrant, as everyone should pic.twitter.com/YNqg5r7trW

Sometimes you can’t just move, though, like when the lunatic grabs you by the hair:
NEW YORK—Will you ever ride the subway again, if defending yourself isn’t an option?

Get a good look at her. Unless she is being harassed or harmed by a capitalist cis gendered man in an Armani suit and alligator shoes…let it be. It's for the best.

Hard to overstate how many of these DNC left-liberal media types like this 👇grew up very rich. The people from the richest families whom I've met were ones I met in left-liberal media outlets. Unlike Taylor Lorenz, Emma didn't go to Swiss boarding schools. Just this: https://t.co/4mKZ7z3yDc pic.twitter.com/CEjcRZX2L9

You grow up going to some private school that costs more than what working-class people make in a year – "we paid $48,000 for our little princess to have a good 9th grade education" — then go around hectoring people with fears of crime as having "bourgeois values."

The fact that she saw the word "bourgeois" to be fitting is all we need to know.

Never seen such privilege ooze from someone like this. That's just nuts to think you should just sit there and take it!

Literally the basic requirement for self defense is that a person put you in a position to rationally fear for your own safety.
How are we, as citizens supposed to just know that this person is having a mental health episode every time they are violent?
— Jefferson's Revenge (@crashnbernie45) May 5, 2023
Translation: You have no right to safety as the perceived oppressor.

Dear Emma:
You can exchange your personal safety for whatever ideal you wish. Normal people, however, are not going to accept this. If the government refuses to act, then increasingly ordinary citizens will. It must suck to hate yourself this much.

Innocent people feeling safe in public spaces – ALL PUBLIC SPACES – should be the default in any civilized society.

Teaching these millennials a big word like bourgeois was a huge mistake.

She's bragging about turning off her fight or flight instinct so she can do some mental moral masturbating about how compassionate she is.
Privilege for sure.— Sagemama (@Sagemama75) May 5, 2023
She says it’s dehumanizing to perceive them as threats to our safety but don’t we dehumanize ourselves when we forgo our human instinct for safety in favor of allowing threatening individuals to roam unhinged?
— Jimmy (@YeetHokage) May 5, 2023
Ah yes, like that one rapist once said, "this hurts me more than it hurts you."
When are we going to talk about the trauma that rapists experience after a rape, they're the real victims.
— Uncle Jimmothy (@UncleJimmothy) May 6, 2023
It is so “bourgeois” to be concerned about ones safety and well being. Absolutely perfect progressive virtue signaling.

She is either lieing about the incident or her reaction to it.
— Sid Monroe for Mack (@SidMonroe12) May 5, 2023
She was elbowed in the face and just took it as life in the city.
These people have somehow managed to talk themself into an ideology in which it is bourgeois to worry about physical threats but normal to feel unsafe when you hear words.

Yep. To the Left, speech is violence, and violence is speech.
