As Twitchy has reported, journalists and celebrities are pretty salty that Twitter CEO followed through on his promise to eliminate legacy blue checkmarks. Some, like AOC, say it puts national security at risk, because how will you know who to trust in the event of an emergency? Entertainers like Stephen King and Bette Midler argue that they’ve been providing free content for all of us in the bourgeoisie and Musk should be paying them for keeping us all glued to Twitter. Musk says just pay the eight bucks for a Twitter Blue subscription. As we’ve noted, it’s always funny to see newspaper editorials slamming Musk’s decision from behind a paywall — subscribe if you want to see why you shouldn’t have to subscribe to Twitter. (You don’t, really, it’s still free.)
We’ve even seen a #BanTheBlue hashtag going aroud, encouraging everyone to insta-block anyone with a blue check, since they’re obviously paying Musk for it.
Some long-term Twitter users have said that all they ever wanted was for Twitter to ban all the Nazis. Now, Dr. Simon Goddek, who was banned himself until Musk took over, says a German blog claims that the people subscribing to Twitter Blue are murderers, war criminals, and Nazis.

The German blog @volksverpetzer, classified as left-wing extremist, posted an article yesterday titled “The Blue Checkmarks: Murderers, War Criminals, Nazis: These People Use Twitter Blue,” in which they labeled @elonmusk as a fascist enabler. The author of this article, @pkreissel, goes even further, claiming that “Musk has no problem helping propaganda, hate, fascism, and dictatorial regimes with reach, as long as he gets paid for it.”
In my opinion, statements like “While liars, Nazis & Co. gain more reach, real journalists and democrats are in danger. Journalists are blocked by Musk if they don’t suit him” are potentially subject to legal action. Freedom of speech is our greatest asset, but such discriminatory and defamatory statements as those made by @pkreissel via his blog @volksverpetzer are highly concerning.
Over the last three years, both @pkreissel and @volksverpetzter have actively advocated for compulsory vaccination of individuals and for using harsh measures to silence scientists and physicians who have resisted government pressure. I believe that this type of totalitarianism has no place on this platform.
