So Disney World has been stripped of special privileges that no other corporation in Florida enjoys and never should have been instituted in the first place. It’s funny how Democrats like AOC vehemently oppose tax breaks to attract new businesses, but can’t see why Disney shouldn’t be able to act as a self-governing entity forever because of a 1967 land development deal.
We’ve already heard a lot of people saying Disney World should get out of Florida — not that it will help them much when Ron DeSantis is president. In April last year, Brian Taylor Cohen said that Disney should move out of Florida and crash and burn Gov. Ron DeSantis’ August re-election bid. That would be a pretty quick move. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis tried to lure Disney away from Florida’s “authoritarian socialist attacks.” Keith Olbermann said Disney World should pull up stakes and relocate to, say, Puerto Rico.
Now New York Times opinion columnist Farhad Manjoo is saying that long-term, Disney has to find a warm-weather alternative in a more business-friendly state.
Long term Disney has to find a warm-weather alternative to Florida without job-killing anti-business government

Maybe Puerto Rico.

That’s a good idea

Yeah, Puerto Rico certainly proved it has the infrastructure in place and a solid electrical grid.

I like the part where he suggests Puerto Rico.

Not sure if the infrastructure in PR can support even one Disney park, let alone however many are in the Orlando area today. Also, how does he expect to move Disney to Puerto Rico, by boat?

Maybe, Disney can hire a large scale house mover. Lisft DW from the foundation and truck it over to NY or some other blue state? I'm surprised it hasn't been thought of yet

Sure, put it in Buffalo! Great weather there🤣🤣🤣🤣

Come on, it's no different than the county fair.
They just put the rides on flatbeds, and drive to the next town.
Right?

We need to take DisneyWorld and push it somewhere else pic.twitter.com/tdSVNhViKt

Yeah I guess they could move to Cuba where they are so much more open minded.

Havana is just a hop skip and a jump away.

Disney Juárez?
That might satisfy Disney's human trafficking creds.

Where were all these folks when California had Disneyland shut down due to Covid for a full 2 years after Florida allowed parks to open again?

It's amazing to me how much the left has shifted over the years. Remember when they thought it was bad to give special treatment to corporations?

Tell me you wouldn't love being at the Disney shareholder meeting where they announce a capital expenditure of $100 Billion or so in order to build a new Disney World in another state just because they don't like the current term-limited governor.

Manjoo must think Florida is going to remain red for the long term. These people seriously think the solution is for Disney World to just move somewhere else.
