Rep. Cori Bush will not succumb to the 'nihilist, insurrectionist view' of the Second Amendment

Rep. Cori Bush isn’t the dumbest member of Congress, but it’s not like she’s not jockeying for the top ten. The video starts somewhere into her speech, so “we” is supposed to be: gun control advocates, Democrats, Congress, or the government; let’s say it’s the government. She makes clear she’s not trying to take people’s rights away in calling for a ban on “assault weapons” — but she also will not succumb to the “nihilist, insurrectionist view” of the Second Amendment. What’s the “insurrectionist view” of the Second Amendment, exactly; that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed?

Yes, gun violence is a public health emergency, just like racism was deemed a public health emergency to justify holding mass Black Lives Matter protests in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
