Here’s a bit of an odd take from Republican Rep. Nancy Mace. She says Republicans aren’t for cancel culture, and even though Rep. Ilhan Omar might be a bigot, a racist, an anti-Semite, and a socialist doesn’t mean she should be booted from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The logic escapes us too — kicking such a person off of a committee doesn’t seem like canceling; it seems like a good idea.
This day keeps getting better. Why have someone on that Committee who obviously despises this country? Booting Rep. Omar off House Foreign Affairs Committee is 'cancel culture,' says GOP Rep. Mace | Fox News https://t.co/c6kxTcZr3L

Fox News reports:
Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., said Friday it would be hypocritical for Republicans to boot Rep. Ilhan Omar D-Minn., from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over anti-Semitic comments, and said doing so amounts to a form of “cancel culture.”
“There’s a First Amendment in this country. We don’t have to agree with everything that members say,” Mace said Friday when Fox News asked if she supported Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s vow to block Omar from the committee.
“I think we have to be very careful about what we are as a constitutional republic,” she said. “I am not a fan of Ilhan Omar. She’s an anti-Semite. She’s a bigot. She’s a racist. She’s a socialist. But that doesn’t mean that we cancel people in this country. Republicans don’t stand for cancel culture. And that’s essentially what this is.”
We can take this two ways: It’s not cancel culture to kick Omar off a committee for being a racist and anti-Semite, or it is cancel culture and in this case should be embraced.

Little miss Mace needs to worry less about jockeying for TV time and getting important things done. And when she’s earned the position of power to make those types of decisions she can.

Actually agree with her sentiment in theory but it is sure hard to apply that principle to Omar specifically. It’s also much harder to stay the course with that principle when the other side blatantly ignores it.

Mace has turned out to be a huge disappointment much like her advocate Niki Hailey.

So is that what demotions mean now? Cancel culture? How about she wasn’t the right person for the job.

Another stupid statement from an America Last Rep.@IlhanMN is openly anti-American, an anti-Semite, and entered this country under false pretenses.
This has nothing to do with cancel culture, she simply doesn't belong in Congress.

No, it’s getting a person off a committee that maligns our country and citizens.

If we’re going to cancel anybody, it should be Omar for all the reasons she listed.
