It seems like forever ago, but when she first took up the mantle of White House press secretary, MSNBC’s Jen Psaki became famous for her continuous promises to “circle back” to reporters when she didn’t have an answer to their questions. We never thought we’d say it, but we admit: We miss Psaki. Sure, she might have lied a lot — that was the bulk of her job — but she wasn’t afraid to spar with Fox News’ Peter Doocy and actually brought some, dare we say, wit to the job.
We never would have given her any of those compliments if it weren’t for her successor, Karine Jean-Pierre, who historically became the first black lesbian press secretary in U.S. history. Jean-Pierre is just bad at her job. She has her binder, but if the answer isn’t in that binder, forget about it. She’s never circling back to anything.
