Last December, Politico reported that “The View” was on the lookout for a conservative woman to take the place being vacated by arch-conservative Meghan McCain. There have been guest hosts who’ve come and gone, but according to the Associated Press, it’s official: “The View” has named two Republicans as regular panelists on the show. That should bring some balance to the discussion, right?
And those Republicans are — drum roll — Alyssa Farah Griffin and … Ana Navarro.
ABC's "The View" has named two Republicans — Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro — as regular panelists on the daytime talk show, and neither are fans of former President Donald Trump. https://t.co/w21St8GIji

The AP reports that “The View” took its time to find just the right conservatives:
Farah Griffin fills the chair left empty when Meghan McCain quit last summer after four years on the show. Farah Griffin is a communications strategist who worked as a spokesperson at the Pentagon and for Trump and Vice President Mike Pence during the last administration.
Navarro, a familiar face as a frequent guest host at “The View” since 2015, was also officially named as an addition to the show’s group of five hosts on Thursday.
McCain was a magnet for controversy and attention during her time at “The View,” where she often fought onscreen with her more liberal co-hosts, and complained after she left of a toxic work environment.
“The View” took its time replacing her, spending a year with conservative guest hosts in informal on-air tryouts. Farah Griffin appeared 29 times.
Does Ana Navarro still list herself as a “Republican strategist,” and if so, who’s the Republican candidate she’s most recently supported?
Anna Navarro😬

Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin are Republicans in the same way AOC is a Republican.
They're not.

Well that's definitely going to make me not watch a show I've never watched before.
— BobbyC (@YeahMyBad) August 4, 2022
That was already one of the worst shows on television. I'm extra glad to miss it now.

Does this surprise anyone? Of course they would select never-Trumpers who are in the extreme minority of their party.

I guess Ana is taking a break from chief campaign manager for Avenatti '24 to take on this new job…

And neither of them in any way represent 99% of the Republican Party.

Go ahead and tell me one “Republican” view point they hold

You didn’t mention the names of the two republicans they signed.

Things are really going to get crazy on set now. They replaced Meghan McCain with two Republicans.
