Well, actually, it kind of is, but only if by “deep state” you mean “bureaucrats trying to uphold decency and the rule of law.” Look, they’ve even got Alexander Vindman and Fiona Hill in their photo header. But the whole piece was really inspired by the publishing of former ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch’s memoir, “Lessons from the Edge.” So it’s a book review.
