Most of the tweet’s right there in the headline. As we just reported, expert Tom Nichols is upset with CNN for its chyron attributing to President Joe Biden, “Putin cannot stay in power,” when Biden ended his speech in Poland by saying that Vladimir Putin “cannot stay in power.” Another Biden voter, the Lincoln Project’s Rick Wilson, is going full-speed ahead trying to defend the line that the White House has already walked back. Are we supposed to think Biden saying that Putin cannot remain in power is a bad thing?
After the clownish antics of Trump's dictator-fellating time in office, please seek the Mysterious Valley of My Missing Fucks if you think Biden calling for the end of Putin's regime is some kind of serious argument against Joe Biden.

What does Donald Trump have to do with what Biden said today? Besides, Russia had already pulled off “regime change” in the United States without firing a shot:
So Biden saying Russia needs regime change is an outrage, while the Russians actually succeeding in causing regime change in the US in 2016 is just fine?
Am I reading this right?

Wrong as usual.

2016 wasn’t “regime change”

An American election is not regime change. We still had the same Constitution. We still had the same people running the House & Senate. We still had the same Chief Justice.
And Donald Trump was, like Joe Biden in 2020, legitimately elected. https://t.co/cIdHOQPena

How do you figure Russia "succeeded in causing regime change in the US in 2016" when all the money Hillary used to pay for Russian disinformation still didn't get her elected? https://t.co/NJ8jtgt8eg

The lack of seriousness about Biden's comment here is stunning. These people don't realize that in Russia, suggesting regime change is grounds for nuclear attack. Or, they just don't care because Bad Orange Man broke their brains. https://t.co/XDaqMetYJV

This is a whole lot of flailing to defend something that the White House immediately had to clarify.
If you want to argue Biden's gaffe came from a place of decency, fine. But "what about Trump?" isn't a defense. If you don't think it was a mistake, make that argument. But it seems obvious to me this was a blunder and the only real question is how big. We get 1 POTUS at a time.
