We learned this morning that inflation hit a four-decade high of 7.9 percent in February. President Biden has told Americans to buckle up because the “Putin price hike” is going to hit all of us hard. On March 3, Sen. Joe Manchin said he’d “gladly pay 10 cents more a gallon to help Ukraine,” which led Politico’s Sam Stein to note that Manchin would stomach inflation to help Ukraine but not Biden’s domestic agenda (admitting in the process that Biden’s domestic agenda would create inflation).
We’re way past 10 cents a gallon, but actor Angela Belcamino replied to Biden’s tweet about the inflation report by saying she’d proudly pay 7.9 percent inflation to defeat Vladimir Putin.
