What a difference a couple of months makes, especially in the fast-moving world of cable television. First, CNN medical analyst Leana Wen tells us that cloth masks are “little more than facial decoration” when it comes to preventing the spread of COVID-19, and now this. Will ace media reporter Brian Stelter have anything to say about CNN anchor Jake Tapper and medical analyst Sanjay Gupta agreeing that it’s “kind of misleading” to count among those with COVID-19 people who are asymptomatic and went to the hospital for a completely different reason? As in, around half of all cases?
CNN's Jake Tapper rips into "misleading" COVID hospitalization numbers.
"We're 2 years into this … if somebody's in the hospital with a broken leg and they also have asymptomatic COVID, that should not be counted as hospitalized with covid, clearly." pic.twitter.com/rZhcANyYaW— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) January 10, 2022
Clearly.
Slow down @TuckerCarlson 😂😂😂

I remember telling one of my neighbors this a year ago…and she got pissed and said I was a “conspiracy person”

They're so deep inside their own bubble this never occurred to them until now, or they previously dismissed it because of who first raised this concern.

Welcome aboard @jaketapper, we've been telling you this for more than 18 months but instead of listening, you had an election to meddle in.

Now has another election — the midterms so he needs to help dial down the panic.

I'm old enough to remember when @CNN used to call this a conspiracy theory.
— Hi (@hollis4congress) January 10, 2022
It was more fun when this was called a conspiracy.

We’ve known this for 2 years.

No shit Jake. Welcome to 18 months ago.

These media people were the ones who were supposed to be looking at data skeptically. It has been obvious, for at least a year and a half, that this was happening. Alternative media noticed and was attacked for delivering the truth. https://t.co/Q2dVLjUlLU

True, but at least he finally went there. The house of cards is falling. If CNN is finally getting it, it’s over. I hope so.

In this clip, @JakeTapper is absolutely right that counting all people in the hospital WITH COVID as being there FOR COVID is wildly misleading — especially since it applies to close to 50% — but it's so striking how many arguments that were long taboo are now all being aired. https://t.co/3F6P7fxnJj

It's also incredibly misleading to change the data two years in…

The midterms are close. Media’s working like clockwork.
— Elda (@elroer) January 10, 2022
They didn't have midterms to win for the past 18 months. All hands on deck to avoid an absolute landslide in 2022.

Because it’s election time. Duh.

Its so fun watch the official state narrative catch up to the facts. Hopefully we are almost through with the BS.

Yeah.. It's striking. Can we now have all the banned accounts, from the last 2 years reinstated? No? Didn't think so.

It’s an election year. Things that would have hurt Democrats will be spun as being things the Democrats wanted to change.

Time to walk it all back and pin the vax fiasco on Trump?
— Ricky Wild Thing Vaughn (@Wild_Vaughn) January 10, 2022
We’re honestly surprised the Biden administration hasn’t already done this: give up on pushing the vaccine and blame Donald Trump for handing them an ineffective one.
