Here’s Melissa Chen, contributing editor of The Spectator, saying what we’re all feeling, even though she’s doing from the point of view from someone inside the media:
The lessons of the past two years for me was the complete and utter destruction of institutional credibility and the politicization of truth itself, by the very institutions (media) tasked to uncover it. My sense of the world broke in a way that hasn't recovered (and won't).

Maybe CNN media reporter Brian Stelter will have her on to discuss it. Oh no, he won’t. Here’s Seth Andrews with the burn:
Tell me again about your appearances on Fox News.
— Seth Andrews (@SethAndrewsTTA) January 2, 2022
Don’t think this is the gotcha tweet you think it is 😂
— Alex (@Pdxskeptic_) January 3, 2022
What is that supposed to be a gotcha moment??
— Iz (@luciferMAGA666) January 2, 2022
Their gotcha moments almost always end being self-owns. It'll never stop being funny.

Woke scolding? How stunning and brave of you.
— Fuzzball (@Fuzzballdonut1) January 3, 2022
I'm always mystified by the people who say Fox News is evil while watching MSNBC and CNN
— BB (@BBinNWIndiana) January 3, 2022
Notice the generic implication void of any specifics concerning her appearances on Fox News. The intent is to smear, not inform.
Desperate.
— TimJameson (@TimJamesonUS) January 3, 2022
She talked to the wrong people? What a pathetic argument @SethAndrewsTTA
— Gibs 🇺🇲 (@gibsonsplace) January 3, 2022
What about those appearances? Can’t be any worse than people who appeared on the pedophile network which is CNN no?

They do the same to Glenn Greenwald because he’s appeared on Fox News with Tucker Carlson, no matter from what political perspective he’s approaching.
Chen took the high road, which she didn’t have to do:
Seth, I respect you and your work, but I do need to address this.
In 2021, I did appear on @FoxNews quite a bit and I am not ashamed of it. I stand by them and am actually proud I did them.
Why, you may ask? https://t.co/G3IvuAUqYL
— Melissa Chen (@MsMelChen) January 3, 2022
I ran through a laundry list of stories the mainstream media got wrong which to date, have not been reckoned with.
By MSM, I mean the legacy prestige media (non-Fox News, non-direct to consumer internet-based news, if you will).
These are stories Fox is usually the first to
— Melissa Chen (@MsMelChen) January 3, 2022
cover, or at least, covered it correctly.
This is not to say Fox does not get stories wrong or doesn’t stretch a narrative for ideological reasons. If it isn’t clear to you by now – they all do it.
The news ecosystem has changed. If you want an accurate picture these days,
— Melissa Chen (@MsMelChen) January 3, 2022
You are going to have to expose yourself to different news organizations knowing their ideological priors, and then triangulate from there.
It just so happens the stories I have been on Fox to discuss – China, wokeism, CRT, etc. – there are topics that the network and I are
— Melissa Chen (@MsMelChen) January 3, 2022
aligned on. I would 100% go on @MSNBC or @CNN if they would have me. But I have never had a producer even email to ask.
So I’m not going to let my appearances on Fox be an argument against me. I am proud of them, and I will do it again.
— Melissa Chen (@MsMelChen) January 3, 2022
CNN will still have Jeffrey Toobin on to talk about abortion.
It's a curious time to live in, engaging with idelogical opposites is now seen as subversion and must be met with condemnation and banishment…when in fact this engaging is EXACTLY what should be encouraged…it is how progress moves forward..I'll never understand this tribalism
— Tommy (@PJharveyBIRDMAN) January 3, 2022
Have you ever seen anyone use the argument "explain your appearances on MSNBC or CNN"? It's such a stupid remark. And Fox News has a bigger audience than either one so your message has a larger impact. If it's good, you should be praised.
— [Red.] 🙈🙉🙊 (@bamboo_818) January 3, 2022
Audience of Fox News deserve to hear @MsMelChen just as much as the audience of CNN and NPR.
— Carious (@Carious1) January 3, 2022
So, when do you plan on apologizing?
— Diogenes the Dilettante (@Diogenes3000) January 3, 2022
@MsMelChen just pay Seth $5 on Cameo to apologize to you.
— G. Hydn (@ghydn) January 3, 2022
Why is MSNBC never held accountable for its hosts promoting leftist conspiracy theories?
