General Kenneth McKenzie officially announced the end of the war in Afghanistan Monday afternoon, with the last flights leaving just before the Taliban’s deadline. There are sure to be plenty of bold headlines announcing that America’s forever war is over at last under President Biden’s guidance, but there is that pesky detail of hundreds of Americans who couldn’t make it to the airport.
General McKenzie said they believe the number of Americans left in Afghanistan is in the "very low hundreds"

The number of hostages captured by Iran in 1979 was in the "very low hundreds"

McKenzie, however, did suggest that America would be moving from the military occupation phase to the “diplomatic sequel.”
Gen. McKenzie says the number of Americans remaining in Afghanistan who want to leave is “in the very low hundreds.” He predicts the U.S. will be able to get them out in what he calls the “diplomatic sequel” to the military-led evacuation mission.

the diplomatic $$ sequel…

Code or giving them pallets of cash.

"Diplomatic sequel" = "exchanging pallets of cash for hostages".

They mean by bribing them. Honestly, people are angry and embarrassed enough. They should just be honest and say it.
Handing money to a terrorist organization that wants to harm the world. I’m speechless.
And to think, this imbecile ran on “preserving the soul of America.” 🤡

Taliban will be happy to take US money. The only thing we can count on with them
— Alex (@prophetorium) August 30, 2021
Exactly. I wonder how many pallets of money Biden will deliver at night to this terrorist country.

Taliban is about to take Biden for everything he's worth

I guess "We don't negotiate with terrorists" is no longer the case?
— Audra (@partwit2020) August 30, 2021
What part of "we do not negotiate with terrorists" does he not understand?
— Floplag (@floplag) August 30, 2021
There is absolutely no evidence that absent bribery of the Taliban and its associated terrorist entities — which is, in fact, illegal — this will happen. https://t.co/G5zIce5K5j

This is naive at best and negligent at worst

What the General is saying makes sense the same way de-criminalizing crime makes sense. I mean, look how great that is working.

That's a big MAYBE. As in maybe after they are rounded up, tortured and interrogated. All of which will be surely accomplished using the military assets Biden left behind. Shame.
— Kenneth Belkin (@Kenneth_Belkin) August 30, 2021
So the war is over or we’re in the sequel of the evacuation?
— John Smith (@john_ssmith_pa) August 30, 2021
The "very low hundreds" of Americans left in Afghanistan behind by Joe Biden are now left with no choice but to convert to radical Islam, join the Taliban, and fight against the United States. Option 2 is have their throats slit.

If he couldn't get them out with our military, how does he think he can do it now. This is just BS from this admin again.
— President -Freedomtracy (@freedomtracy) August 30, 2021
Because now we have diplomatic relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. And we have Antony Blinken’s State Department doing the negotiations.
