The Daily Beast is reporting that media darling Michael Avenatti faces a “very substantial” prison term for trying to extort millions from Nike. “Avenatti, 50, was convicted last year of trying to extort $25 million out of Nike to buy his silence on allegations of corruption involving college athletes,” writes Philippe Naughton. “His lawyers have said that his public shaming has been punishment enough and he should spend no more than six months in prison.”

The day after Barbara Bush died, every morning show started with a tribute to her, all except Good Morning America. They started with story about Avenatti and Stormy Daniels. Their hatred of Trump overrode their desire to honor someone who deserved it.
